A large part of AOA LTD work for clients, is the Examination of their Annual Financial Accounts. As Statutory Auditors, we carry out independent review of company’s financial statements.
Our objectives are directed towards not only verifying the figures in the Final Accounts, but also seeing that they are presented in such a way as to reflect a true and fair view of the year’s activities and state of affairs at the year end, and as to whether they comply with the Nigerian legal requirements.
AOA LTD also acts as Reporting Accountants, in which case we would be requested to carryout a “full scope” examination, or adapt our scope in line with more specific reporting objectives. These special purpose reports include that necessary to facilitate an acquisition, private or public placement of shares or one required to support a Bank loan.
In addition AOA LTD performs a number of other services, which includes Due Diligence Investigation, Accounting (write-up), Systems analysis, Design and Implementation and Training programmes.
Financial Examination is a skill that is being developed continuously, I. C. T. has revolutionised the processing of information, and we see it as our responsibility at AOA LTD to support the development of financial systems computer applications in general and computer audit in particular.
Our Financial Examination work involves us in the review of client’s accounting and administrative systems and procedures, as a result of which, it is normal practice for us to inform management of any improvements that we feel could be made to strengthen the client’s
Internal Control and Accounting procedures, thereby improving efficiency, productivity and profitability.
He is a HND graduate of Accountancy from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and also Fellowship Member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Associate Member of The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) He has over 22 years post graduate experience in Audit and Banking spanning branch operations, controls, international operations, capital markets operations and public sector.
He started his career at United Bank for Africa Plc and has financial and management services experience in both Commercial and Investment banking, spanning over 15years. He has worked with various institutions, including UBA Plc, NNB International Bank Plc, and Intercontinental Capital Markets Ltd. While at the various banks he was involved in set up of new branch, re-engineering and re branding at various stages. He was also responsible for mobilizing deposit from Zero to average of N1billion in the space of 1 year while at ICML, he also ensure that his branch became profitable within 6 months of opening.
He has diverse knowledge in corporate finance, strategy planning & development, branch operations and controls, marketing and relationship management skills, credit risk management, assets and liability management, capital market activities.
He has attended various courses including Banking operation course, foreign exchange seminars, Workshop on Creative and Initiative thinking process, Journey to teams, Workshop on Real Estate Investment Trust Scheme (REITS), Workshop on Commodity Trading, Fundamentals of Loan Syndication and Mastering Alternative Investments.
Ayo was also the Investment Officer and Board of Trustee Member of Covenant Multipurpose Co-operative Society from where he joined others to form SPRITE Multipurpose Company Society Limited as the Vice Chairman/CEO.
Ayo is also a managing Partner in the firm of Oyewola Abiiba & Co (Chartered Accountants and Tax Consultants) where he runs the Northern Business Office of the Firm.
